The Round Pen
Fit to Be Tied
A message brought to life.
“You will find a colt tied…” — Luke 19:30
The Round Pen is a live horse demonstration where the message of Fit to Be Tied becomes visible.
Jim uses the round pen to illustrate biblical truths about pressure, release, trust, and surrender. The horses used in the demonstration are already trained, but their movements point back to lessons that begin much earlier in the training process. An untrained horse naturally resists pressure. It pulls away, fights direction, and looks for a way to stay in control. Over time, through patience, consistency, and proper release, the horse learns that yielding is not defeat — it is the beginning of trust.
That picture is what makes the message of Fit to Be Tied so clear.
To most people, a tied colt may seem like a small detail in the story. But to a horse trainer, it speaks volumes. Before a colt can be ridden, it must first learn to be led. Before it can be led, it must be tied. Before it can carry purpose, it must surrender control. In the same way, God often begins His work in us through surrender. What feels like restraint may actually be preparation. What feels like pressure may be teaching us to trust. What feels like being held back may be God getting us ready for what comes next.
The truth is simple: until we surrender, we cannot be led; and until we can be led, we cannot be used.
That is the heart of Fit to Be Tied — becoming surrendered, prepared, and ready for God to use.
