We have received so much encouragement and positive feedback since announcing the new name, 1930 Ministries. It is an exciting time for us as we plan to expand our local impact.
The Gathering is gathering steam as we head into the building phase of the church building. The dirt work for the building site is nearing completion, and a company has committed to pouring our floor as a donation to 1930 Ministries. As the project unfolds, we will share more about our dream of a thriving cowboy church here in Henry County, TN. There are more than 100,000 people within a forty-five-minute drive, and there are no other such churches in that circle. The nearest is an hour away. Such an open harvest field is an invitation for the Kingdom of God to expand. Prayers for strategy are requested and appreciated.
On May 3, 2026, I received a cry for help from our connection in Honduras. It was from a desperate pastor who had just completed a new church construction and then suddenly lost most of the structure and contents to a devastating fire. He sent me a video of the church burning and the desperate cries of the pastor as he videoed the church on fire. The request from our connection was simple: "Is there anything you can do to help? Anything would be appreciated." I made one move. I sent that video to the friend who had just visited Honduras with me and had donated four motorcycles. That friend was Dwight Herring, the head of Grandfather Ministries in Ninety-Six, South Carolina. That was on Sunday morning May 3rd. While he was watching the video on the church computer his pastor walked by and saw the fire and heard the desperation coming from the recording. Even though this pastor couldn’t speak Spanish he recognized the sound and said, “Looks like our service plans just changed.” That morning they shared the video with the church and a small congregation in South Carolina met the need of a burning church in Honduras. They quickly and passionately remembered a time when their church faced devastation and someone’s generosity brought restoration. Without hesitation they sent a check to completely restore the church’s loss. With their donation we were able to send money for new tile, wiring, windows, ceiling, sound equipment, cushion chairs, (much better than the ones that were lost) paint and construction costs. The response from a simple video was astounding.
What is the name of the church that burned? “Well of Life.” What is the name of the town where it is? “The Arena” - 1930 Ministries is already making an impact in the Arena and generosity makes it possible. The dedication of the reconstruction was celebrated on June 19 with a capacity crowd gathered to honor Jesus and His restoration power.
